Find me on:

We're happy to announce the launch of AppScale 2.5.0!

This release represents a big step forward in making it easier to manage production AppScale deployments.

Here's why we're excited about AppScale 2.5.0:

1. Backup & Recovery of Apps and Data

One of our biggest goals has always been making it easier to manage applications in AppScale. With AppScale 2.5.0, you can take backups of an AppScale deployment and restore them on another machine. These backups include the application source code and data.

Our next step is offering this functionality within the AppScale Management Portal for one-click backup and restore.

2. A Better Datastore Groomer

The Datastore API is our bread and butter, and we are always working to ensure that it is optimized for peak performance.  With the new groomer in AppScale 2.5.0, your application will see better performance in the Datastore API calls.

3. Persistent Logs for Better Auditing

In AppScale 2.5.0, logs are kept across the restart cycle. This means that logs with persist after running "appscale down" and "appscale up", making it easier for you to monitor and debug your applications on AppScale.

We'd love to hear what you think about AppScale 2.5.0 and have you contribute to 2.6.0. Join us on GitHub!
